Comment: Very fair exams that were closely based on the homework. Good prof, interesting class.

Comment: Thoroughly mediocre across the board. Lectures were mind-numbingly boring. Assignments were not difficult, but often tedious. Exams were strange - either way too easy or way too hard. Subject material was the only thing that salvaged this class.

Comment: Of all the core classes to take as a ME, 108 was one of the better ones with Professor Dharan. Relatively easy problem sets, fair exams (although it requires luck here and there), and interesting examples overlapping with material science area. The lab was completely independent from the lecture which was confusing at first, but at least the lab itself is well-organized and it is not too much of a burden as long as you have solid lab partners.

Comment: Easy Class, kinna boring lecture, but if you pay attention, you'll learn a lot. Prof. Dharan knows the stuff very well and gives real life examples during the lectures.

Comment: Extremely useful and interesting material. Assignments and quizzes are so random and harshly graded (which depends on the GSI, not the professor), but tests are open-everything and very basic to the point you might actually get tripped over by the over-thinking. His lecture style is not for everyone, especially going off tangent often in lecture, but he is an expert on the subject matter and has some pretty good dry jokes. I probably will never forget him saying "Please blame the Chinese" on the origin of tests and exams.
