Comment: WONDERFUL PROF!!! Best prof experience thus far! Cal lost an awesome professor and I feel so fortunate to have learned from her before she moved on from Cal. I hope if this course is continued that it will be taught with as much enthusiasm and obvious care/love as Seyer-Ochi showed.

Comment: Favorite class at Berkeley so far. Ingrid is AMAZING. Simply AMAZING. She really cares and loves her students, and I am so sad to see her go :( This class opened up a lot of things for me. Definitely be open about what's going on here. I'm keeping my reader, it was amazing. Her lectures are awesome and engaging (she made us talk a lot in the beginning!). We really don't have much work. Just read, and post to the bspace every week. Don't skip them though! Definitely need them for your midterm. Don't be afraid of the 5th unit, inquiry group gave me great friends that I didn't make in any other class, and only meets once a week to discuss readings :) Final was a paper about our educational experience. I cried writing the last part, and this was the only class where I was passionate enough to give it my all. I'll miss you Ingrid :(

Comment: It is fun if you let yourself get into it and super interesting. Not bad for 5 units! And the teacher is awesome!

Comment: This class is awesome. Ingrid loves her students and she really really cares which is way more than other profs. Go to her office hours. Be open-minded. Learn from her. She is incredible! The class really opens your eyes as to the edu you have received over the years. Not necessarily good for kids who have taken 190 i've heard. But if you're thinking about a minor. TAKE THIS COURSE. Dont be afraid of the 5th unit either. It's for inquiry groups which meet 1x a week outside of class to talk about the readings etc. NBD.

Comment: One of the best classes taken at Cal so far. I took this class my freshman year and this class made me want to be in the field of Education in the future. Definitely motivated me to minoring in Education at Cal and planning to go to grad school for Education as well. Very inspiring and motivational course everyone should definitely take! Class is really fair, all the readings are interesting and every single lecture you are inspired!

Comment: all exams were fair - one of the great classes that fulfills the ed minor - learned a lot about others - looks at education through many lenses, two papers, but definitely do-able and fair, a class that will make you think and reflect on your educational experience

Comment: For N40AC, it's usually taught by GSIs. My GSI, Erica Boas, was pretty awesome and focused highly on class-based discussions. For the most part, the assignments are a bit annoying but pretty helpful in developing insights. Exams, on the other hand, are time-consuming as they are take-home papers.
