Comment: She gets the job done. I learned a lot about what IEOR was and I felt like she guided the students well through the IEOR module IF you went to office hours. A little too much work for what it was worth though.

Comment: Great professor whose lectures may get a little dry at some points, but is very fair and understanding of what students have troubles with and things like that.

Comment: Guo is a very fun professor to have. She has a few odd quirks, but is really solid at teaching. Midterms were really fair, but the final was surprisingly harder. Homework was very helpful in learning the material, but discussion section was nothing but example problems.

Comment: This class is a great introduction to probability. The professor does a good job in covering both the theory and application of probability. At least once each lecture, she will say something that probably makes sense in chinese, but maybe doesn't quite translate to english right, and the result is normally pretty funny. The midterms are basically similar to problems from her lecture, but normally more difficult.

Comment: I had 221,222 both with her. She is really nice and grading is very generous. The lecture material in 221 is fairly easy and exam is very straight forward. however, this is not the case for 222. The project is insanely hard. Do not take 222 unless you got A+ in 221.

Comment: This class was HARD particularly if you didn't have a strong probability and analysis/calculus background coming in like me. The homework questions tended to be a mix of decent problems with some really hard questions throw in that even our gsi sometimes struggled with. The book wasn't the best to learn from either. The first midterm was very fair but the final was very, very difficult and skewed towards Poisson Processes and Renewal Theory (neither topic is as easy as Markov Chains). Make sure you're very comfortable with Math 1B/53/104/105 + Stat 134/Stat 150 before enrolling in this class if you want an A!
