Comment: Adi is a great GSI to have for Math 1A! He dedicates himself ensuring that his students understand the material, so take advantage of his office hours and don't be afraid to ask questions during lecture. The assignments were lengthy (since it was in the summer), and it was graded on both completeness and correctness. Also, the weekly quizzes were a bit difficult, but manageable as long as you understood the concepts well and did your homework. He can be nitpicky with details when it comes to grading. The midterms are loosely based off the quizzes and the homework. Just make sure you understand all the concepts, because Adi likes to use problems that contain applying concepts. Grading wise, he will make sure that he can maximize your class as much as he can, so don't worry too much if you're not doing so well; just show him that you're trying your best to understand the material. Adi has a great sense of humor that will brighten your day. For word problems, he'll choose people in class and put them in hilarious scenarios that relate to calculus. This was my favorite class this summer, and I recommend Adi 100%!

Comment: Adi is probably one of the most amazing GSI's I've had in Cal. Though I've taken multivariable calculus (as in Berk, Math 54) in high school and aced it, I still learned new things from him. He is good at teaching the concept using different (and funny) analogy. Most of the homework range from easy to slightly difficult, but solution will be provided in class. The exam are very similar to homework and weekly quizzes. So if you don't do well on them, go to his office hour. He tries his best to meet with you. He also provides food in class occasionally, sometimes use them to demonstrate concepts. Under Adi's cheerful discussion environment, I've actually made some friends in class, unlike many other sections. If you have him, just do your study and you'll be fine.

Comment: Adi's an awesome GSI. I had him for the summer and he will sincerely try to help you understand the material. I know a lot of people say he's difficult and he actually even admits on the first day that he's not going to be easy. It helps in the long run though, and going over his weekly quizzes especially helps for the final and midterms. Great enthusiasm and he certainly beats all the calculus classes I've taken in high school.

Comment: Adi was a really nice GSI-- he really tried his best to help everyone and had office hours almost every afternoon right after class. I could tell he sincerely wanted us to learn the concepts and he mainly focused on the most challenging part of calculus-- understanding what exactly you are solving for in problems. So he does test definitions, theorems, etc a lot and asks you to explain them in your own words. It's a bit hard in that respect (for a non-math person like me at least), but don't be afraid to e-mail him or go into office hours to ask for help. If I could redo this course, I would have started studying with a group from the first week of classes-- only did I find out that group studies work in the second to last week of the course...
