Comment: He is a very enthusiastic professor, and he makes the lectures interesting and easy to understand. The problem sets are sometimes a bit long, but they help with understanding concepts and prepare you for the exams. Make sure to attend lectures because although his lecture notes are posted online, his explanations in class really help with understanding. He explains everything thoroughly in class so that you don't need to look at the textbook.

Comment: Material is super tough, but he does a great job trying to make it fun. He is super clear and an overall great guy/ teacher. Hands down the best professor I have ever had. Go to section and pay attention in class, midterms and finals are hard. Make sure to do well on the problem sets because they are graded and will help your grade. Also, he love participation so participate a lot

Comment: Dellavigna is cool. The textbook wasn't required for my semester but his lectures cover everything and his notes are very reliable. The exams are very similar to his problem sets. Best of all, he takes students out to lunches for his office hours.

Comment: Dellavigna is a very nice professor. He takes students to lunch on his dime. He is amusing in lecture. He loves what he does and he tries to communicate his subject as best as possible. His exams are not hard if you do practice exams, because they're generally repeats of previous problems, either from exams or problem sets. Speaking of problem sets, the solutions have been available for those online for a long time, as of this semester. Maybe it'll change. Maybe it won't. Take this course if you're more interested in the theory, as the course title implies, it is not necessarily directly applicable, but the intuition you learn in this course is what makes it worth it.

Comment: Dull lecture. You can always find hw solutions online -- he never change his hw for 10 years. The first midterm is always a pain and be prepared! The second midterm is a piece of cake, relax. The class materials are somewhat abstract and not useful. I just expect to learn new and more concrete things in higher level economic classes. Anyway, you have to take this class if you want to do good in econometrics, no other choice.
