Comment: David is a bit of an asshole in terms of his personality. Maybe it was the class time (5-6.30) but he could be really un-understanding of people's problems. He expects everyone to get the class material quickly. It's music and we're doing it in half the time and people are already trying, so stop being so disappointed. His assignments were straight from the textbook and not too hard though. His exams were the same as the textbook stuff.
MUSIC 20A (Summer 2011)
Comment: He is fine if you do know music or have a music background. Don't think that this will be an easy breath if you do not have any experience in music because it will be hard if you are learning this material for the first time. Topics range from: Minor/Major Scales, Intervals, Triads, Rhythm, Pitch, etc. All tests are structured in three parts which include: Sight Singing, Prepared Singing, and Written Exam. Overall, I felt the class was fine because I had a music background, but I did notice that those who did not had a trouble in the course. That being said, 2-unit class feel is accurate for those who have background in music. More than that if you do not. Make sure you look on amazon/online websites for the textbooks because the books from the student store are expensive and not worth paying vs. the online price.
