Comment: I LOVED Professor Wood and this class. Although the class could get kind of boring at times, I would recommend it to anyone. The class is pretty much all based around student participation/discussion, and when no one talks, Wood tries to start some conversation. He's a pretty funny old guy, too. The only thing you need to get a P in this class is attend a majority of the classes, and give a simple powerpoint presenation on an environmental topic (mine was around 4 minutes, just reading the lectures). He also takes you on a trip to Muir Woods. Professor Wood also cares about his students, he even asked me questions about my family and how I was liking California/Berkeley as an out of state student. I had to miss class a few times because it was a little early and I went through some sickness this past semester, but he was always understanding. If you are an incoming freshman and need a credit, TAKE THIS CLASS.

Comment: The readings were way too long and contributed little to the topics talked about in class.

Comment: I LOVE PROFESSOR WOOD. He's amazing and he really tries to get to know his students. Even though this was a class I had once a week, he always asked about how I was doing, my parents were doing, etc. He's also really passionate about environmental science which makes his class even more interesting and always has a lot to share about every environmental issue that is brought up. Plus, he takes us out on amazing field trips (Muir Woods) and is just really, really sweet. This was the most amazing class that I've taken all semester!

Comment: This is the easiest one unit class. Prof Wood is a great old guy who loves to keep talking so time goes quickly. The class met once a week. Present an environmental topic twice in the semester and you're done. Everyone mostly printed out a news article from the internet and talked about 2-3 mins to the class. No tests, homework, midterm or final. Presentations had no time minimum or maximum. I found this class very funny at times due to some environmental students being overly enthusiastic and even excited listening to topics on some fish or bird.
