Comment: Katy is just amazing. What more can you ask from a GSI. I feel like my writing has improved so much! We read amazing texts and she is an amazing teacher. You will become a better writer. YOU WILL. She is a very tough grader though, but if you go to OH and try hard, you will improve and get the grade you deserve.

Comment: She is so nice. But the class is generally quite, which seems to make her frustrating. She helps you a lot when you ask her after class.

Comment: Katy was an amazing GSI. She was very helpful in her comments on essays, and tried to do everything she could to help us improve our grammar and general writing/analysis. Her enthusiasm was extraordinary for an 8am class. However, she was kind of a tough grader on papers; only gave one or two solid A's.

Comment: This is a review for Katy Sosnak. Katy has to be one of the BEST gsi's i've ever had, in any class. She is so enthusiastic and willing to help students, and even though this was an 8am class, her devotion to this class (worksheets, handouts) and liveliness really makes it bearable. Her comments on essays have really helped make me a better writer, and she encourages students to think outside the box and approach novels in a unique way. She emphasizes close reading, word choice, and thesis/argument. I looked back on my old essays from last year, and I'm very pleased with the improvement I've made over the past semester. She is absolutely amazing, and so helpful in office hours and over email. Also, her in-class activities, such as grammar "quizzes" (ungraded) and minilectures on how to write intros/conclusions are very useful. TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO BECOME A BETTER WRITER!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!! :)
