Comment: She is passionate about the subject, but asks many questions that go beyond the level of her students. Slow, boring class overall.

Comment: I imagine that this class depends heavily on who teaches it and what topic they choose to focus on. My experience in this class generally confirmed reviews that said it was easy. My GSI Jillian assigned only two big papers and a spattering of random writing assignments throughout the semester. I was about the only student in the 17-person class to do my reading, but it didn't seem to affect people's performance in class too much. Once near the end of the semester, Jillian administered a disastrous pop quiz that must have revealed who was keeping up, but class continued as usual. So basically, this class will probably have low expectations and a light workload. But if you have any interest whatsoever in reading or writing, this class is not for you. It's apparent that almost everyone in the class was simply trying to get rid of their R&C requirement, as you might expect from the reviews. While it might be easy to get an A, it won't be enjoyable along the way. It's excruciating to sit in a class mostly full of utterly unmotivated engineering majors waiting for a reading discussion to happen. Just keep that in mind.
