Comment: No exams, only 3 papers. The films were an interesting mix, though they change every year. Class overall was a bit boring, especially if you hated the films. Graded fairly though.

Comment: Great class, great guy. Never a dull moment in this class. Topics change, so just make sure that you are interested. It's always nice to find a class and/or a professor that makes you think; this did both. No exams, just papers that are designed for the adjustment period into college, giving you plenty of feedback. On top of that, Jonathan is extremely approachable and genuinely interested in your doing well. The discussions in class were always very far out, if you will, and left me only with a smile. Definitely requires more work than German per se, but I'd say its worth it.

Comment: Sometimes the assignments and papers were a little confusing and pointless, but it is an interesting class. Topics of the class vary year to year. Check the department website for info.

Comment: Loved Jonathan. As someone else said on here... discussions can be a bit "Far out" but that's what makes them so fun and interesting. He is not very articulate but when he does make his point it's well worth the wait. Really enjoyed Rhetoric R1A with him.

Comment: He is nice and wants you to do well. However, he's not very articulate and it takes a lot of effort to gauge what he wants when it comes to improving your essay (if you want an A). The lectures were like discussions: they tended to drag on. Keep in mind he is a film professor not a Rhetoric one.
