Comment: I see where the other harsher ratings are coming from but CE93 is your basic stats class with some matlab. Stats is one of those subjects where if you understand, it comes easy and if you don't, it'll take forever to get. It was Professor Walker's first time teaching 93 but I thought she did a decent job. I feel like anyone would have a hard time teaching the material. The tests were all pretty easy.

Comment: Didn't go to lecture often but I think she follows along with the book pretty closely. The midterms were pretty fair, but the final was challenging.

Comment: Definitely a really approachable professor (I call her Joan instead of Professor Walker because she's so nice!) and explains material clearly. But, for CE93 specifically, change the textbook! It's so hard to read! The GSI's make the material much understandable than a textbook. If you can, choose a different textbook

Comment: Interesting class. Not a lot of work . The material taught in this course will definitely make you a more informed engineer. It will teach you about current infrastructure projects and how they planned throughout the entire process. It feels like there's more reading than calculations in this course! She is very enthusiastic and helpful during lecture and office hours. For our final project, each group has to present about the planning process of a specific infrastructure project.

Comment: I know this is a pretty high rating, but I totally mean it - Prof. Walker is a very good lecturer and explains complex topics in a concise, easy-to-understand way. She focuses much more on the learning aspect of the class rather than worrying about grades/homework. Much of the class revolves around case studies and how you would make decisions/respond to them using mathematical tools/economic theory. The class was really chill and the homeworks and exams were very reasonable! I learned a lot in this class, and it was low-stress, high-learning! Would definitely recommend this course if you're interested in getting the big picture of how large infrastructure projects are planned and implemented.
