Pick up some homemade chocolate chip cookies from the Rotaract table on Sproul! We will be selling them from 10 am-2 pm on Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, as well as Monday through Thursday of the week after (11/25 to 11/26 and 12/2 to 12/5). Buy a delicious cookie for $1, or treat yourself to three cookies for $2!
All proceeds will go to ShelterBox, a disaster relief organization that is working tirelessly to help those displaced in the Philippines. The organization provides lifesaving supplies and shelter to those in need by distributing its namesake relief kits. Each large green ShelterBox is filled with thermal blankets, water filtration equipment, a large disaster relief tent, and several other emergency items.
Chip-chip is a five-year-old boy living in the Philippines. After Typhoon Haiyan hit his village, he and his extended family were left homeless until they received a ShelterBox. Although the ShelterBox organization is already hard at work providing survival supplies to those living in the most devastated areas, there is still much to be done. Chip-chip is just one of 5 million children affected by Typhoon Haiyan, and Cal Rotaract’s International Committee is selling cookies to help ShelterBox provide as many of these children with the same lifesaving support they gave to Chip-chip.
