For International Committee’s last event of the semester, our members will be demonstrating and teaching how to use open source mapping software!

Right now there is significant need for these maps in West Africa, where first responders from organizations like Doctors Without Borders and the World Health Organization need them to help contain the spread of Ebola. While we will be emphasizing this at the event, this mapping software can be utilized anywhere in the world for a variety of applications. Since the software is open sourced, you will be able to map from anywhere on your own time after you learn the ropes! Food will be provided. Stay tuned for the announcement.

International Committee would like to give a special shout out to Theresa Clary, who is currently visiting college campuses across the country leading workshops that teach people how to use the software. She recently visited UC Berkeley, which is how we learned about the project.

We hope to see you all there!
