March 14th | Poverty and Homelessness Symposium | 10:00 AM | 155 Dwinelle

If you came to our last GM, you were able to begin the first steps in a dialogue that Cal Rotaract wants to start around poverty. Many of our past, present, and upcoming service events engage with poverty and the many issues that are associated with it. To truly serve, we need to have an understanding of why the need for our service exists in the first place.

We are not an expert on these issues. So when other organizations host events that talk about these very things, we want to be sure to go to them! Join Cal Rotaract as we attend the 7th Annua Poverty and Homelessness Symposium: The Broken American Dream. At this event there will be various panels and workshops hosted by community groups, with a keynote speech by a Berkeley faculty member!

The event provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Think of it like an educational Rotaract hangout! We’ll all meet up before and attend the workshops together. Also, there is a family event later that day so we can head over to that as well!

Find out more info on their FB event page.
