Friends of Five Creeks: Welcome Week Service Event

Meet at 51B stop on Bancroft and Telegraph at 9AM!
With beach wildflowers still in bloom and migrating shorebirds returning, join Friends of Five Creeks Sat., Sept. 14, removing trash and invasive species in the “Brickyard” Bay shore south of University Avenue, Berkeley. This fenced portion of McLaughlin Eastshore State Park is being readied for public opening. We’ll remove invasive ice plant (fun for all ages), dig out small re-sprouts of Pampas grass, and pick up trash along the beach.
Gloves, snacks, bags, and tools provided. Weather at the Bay can change quickly; bring layers to be prepared for sun, fog, wind, or all three. Wear closed-toed shoes with good traction. Bring sun protection and a re-usable water bottle.
