Environmental Design 11A
Professor Paz Gutierrez, Hsin-Hsien Chiu
Spring 2011

This was my second class in the Department of Environmental Design, and my first official architecture studio class.

Favorite project from the semester:

The prompt for this project was to photograph a body fragment, then "carefully record [the] selected part of the body by a) devising a method for surveying it, or b) devising a method for transferring the surveyed body information to a sheet of drawing paper."

I was unsatisfied by how initial photographs turned out, and decided instead to capture my hand through a document scanner. The ethereal effect caused by the extremely shallow depth of field was reproduced with horizontal lines of varying line weights.
