My responsibilities: 3D Modeling and design, cutting foamcore precisely

This class was an introduction to Solidworks and basic manufacturing processes.

For the final project, the objective was to build a cart that goes forward, and then back as far as possible to its original location. In terms of materials, we were limited to 1/4" foamcore, wooden dowels, 10 rubber bands, 3 meters of string, and 8cc's of 3D printed abs plastic.

Our third design iteration. Although most competing designs opted to transmit power directly through rubber bands, we chose to use a flywheel to wind a string attached to the drivetrain. The reasoning behind this decision was that while we only had 10 rubber bands, we had 3 meters of string.
