Though he competed against my old high school (when I attended high school in Miami), I followed him throughout his career. I went to L.A. when he was with the Dodgers and got a chance to wave and talk a little to him from my spot in the stands, and I went to a game in Detroit to see him when he was with the Rangers. He was kind enough to sign a ball for my son. While revered with the Marlins, it's too bad the other teams for whom he toiled have not paid tribute to this fine person and player. |
