Science and Engineering Community Outreach (SECO) fosters a culture of service and volunteering among graduate students and encourages and enables its members to share their knowledge of engineering and science with their communities. We currently teach lessons to second, third, and fifth grade students on a range of topics. Each lesson is an hour long and takes place at an elementary school in Berkeley, Oakland, Albany, or El Cerrito.
We welcome any graduate students and post-docs who are passionate about community outreach to be members of SECO. We hold meetings once a month and each member is encouraged to teach a lesson at least once a month.
