My personal interests lie primarily in the areas of reading and travel. While I minored in English for my undergrauate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, my personal reading tastes tend towards genre literature, such as science fiction, horror, and mysteries.While I spent most of my adult years in Santa Barbara, where I was born, I have had a love of travel almost since I got my first driver's license. When I was first in college, I made a number of motorcycle trips to the Pacific Northwest and Canada. In graduate school I spent a summer traveling to Colorado and back, as I was a teaching assistant in the History Department at Colorado State University. Since meeting my wife, an English historian and Bayonne, New Jersey native, I travel frequently to the east coast and Great Britain .
