INSANITY: Makkun's latest single continues her series of Muv-Luv tie-ins. The two new songs here are INSANITY and TOTAL ECLIPSE, respectively the OP and ED of PC game 'Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse'. This single was released on Lantis Records. GENERATION-A: This year's Animelo Summer Live Concert is now out in DVD. Makkun was again the opening singer, performing a 'Rondo-revolution' duet with Mizuki Nana, then going solo for '-w-' and 'Sora ni Kakeru Hashi'. She also performed 'Break Out', 'VICTORY', and 'SKILL' with JAM Project. And, of course, she and Monta produced the theme song for this year's concert, the feel-good club song 'GENERATION-A'. This release includes 3 DVDs and was released on 11/28/07. JAM Project: No Borders World Tour: JAM Project's next annual live concert tour will run for 5 gigs in 4 cities across Japan from Feb. to March. of 2008. A singles release with the concert's title song 'No Border' will be released on 1/23/08. Very importantly, JAM Project announced in a press conference on 10/30/07 that they'll be doing a world tour with concerts in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, China (Beijing and Shanghai), Taiwan, Korea, and Hong Kong. 15-year Anniversary Singles Collection Album: With this landmark in Makkun's career comes the first singles collection album on her evolution label. The title of the album is 'Oo-oku' and includes her A-sides from 'Olive' to 'It's my life,' as well as new covers of 3 songs from her King Records era including 'Rondo-revolution'. The limited edition version will also have 4 special items: 1) DVD with her promotion clips for 'Olive,' 'TRUST', 'mitsu', 'zero-G', 'WILD SPICE', 'It's my life', and '-w-'; 2) Special sleeve packaging; 3) Download access to an original cell phone game made be Okui Masami; 4) Raffle tickets to her premium birthday party in 2008. New anime ED produced by Makkun: Song title is 'Kagaribi', the ED for upcoming anime series 'AYAKASHI'. The single is produced by Makkun and will be sung by KAORI, slated for released on 2/27/08.. Limited edition will include the video clip for 'Kagaribi' featuring KAORI.

Masami Life: Makkun's new album is out this October! It will include her tracks from her singles "Remote Viewing" and "It's my life", as well as her off-label single "RING" and track from the game Muv-Luv, "sion". According to Makkun's blog, there will also be a song written(!?) by Yabuki Toshirou; one song composed by MACARONI* titled "mobile magic" featuring ikuo on bass; and one track written by fellow anime singer/songwriter Sakai Mikio titled "GAIA2012".

Three (+ Two) New Releases this Summer: Oh my! THREE (or, if you consider JAM Project and Ohmi Tomoe, too, FIVE) Makkun-related releases are slated for the next two months.
Generation-A - To be released on 06/20/07 is the theme song for this year's Animelo Summer Live super-concert, titled "Generation-A". Lyrics and music are by Okui Masami, with arrangement by MACARONI* and Monta. The release will also include a DVD with the music video and making-of featurette. Visit the official Animelo Summer Live 2007 webpage for more details on the artists participating in this event, which in addition to Okui include JAM Project, Mizuki Nana, ALI PROJECT, Kuribayashi Minami, Takahashi Naozumi, Ohmi Tomoe, Psychic Lover, m.o.v.e., Suara, and many more.
It's my life - This is the single reported on this page in April, to be released on 07/04/07. The tracklist has been inexplicably cut from 3 feature tracks to 2, but the exciting news is that the A-side, titled "It's my life", is being arranged by Makkun's old arranging pair from her King Records era, Yabuki Toshiro and Oohira Tsutomu. The B-side, titled "-w-", is being arranged by her new arranging pair at evolution, Monta and MACARONI*. In her diary, Makkun describes the first song as 'upbeat with a fast-paced feeling' and the second as 'hard, danceable rock'. As mentioned before, this release will also include a DVD of highlights from Makkun's countdown live concert 'Uribou, Baneeee'. Makkun mentioned that there are no current plans to make a full DVD release of this concert, so this is the only release which will have footage from that countdown live. The price is 2100 yen; product code is EVCS-0012. There will NOT be a CD-only version of this release.
RING - To be released on 07/25/07 is the single "RING", which will be the opening theme song for the new tokusatsu series 'Jikuu Keisatsu Wecker Signa' (Space-Time Police Wecker Signa). For now, the tracklist includes an A-side, "RING", and a B-side "RING -Ballad Version-", as well as instrumental tracks for both, but Makkun wrote in her diary that there are 3 tracks planned (maybe a typo?). The CD-single will be released on the Index Music label.
Ohmi Tomoe: Happy Days - Also to be released on 06/20/07 is Ohmi's 4th single "Happy Days", which will be the theme song for her radio show 'Su'. The two B-sides include a cover song, "Rokku Ribaa he" (To Rock River); and "Jun'ai Hakusho" (Pure Love Paper), which will be featured in a Dramagix Seiyu Energy live-action drama featuring Ohmi as an actress, 'gift'. The special edition will include a DVD with footage from Ohmi's live concert 'Invitation Live ~gift~' from 12/31/06. Samples of each track can be heard at evolution-m.
JAM Project Best Album and DVD - JAM Project has its fifth 'best' album, 'Big Bang', and its newest live DVD from a concert held in 01/21/07 at Tokyo Kouseinenkin Kaikan in Shinjuku, 'JAPAN CIRCUIT 2007: Break Out', both slated for release on 07/04/07.
Anisama Station: The Animelo Summer Live website is hosting a short clip each week of Okui Masami's "@Tunes" TV show. The show is hosted by Makkun and fellow anime singer Kuribayashi Minami, and each week there is a guest star. New Single for July 2007: Things have been quiet lately after the release of 'Remote Viewing,' but makusonia has news of a single to be released on July 4, 2007. Title is not yet known, but there are 3 tracks planned, along with the instrumental/karaoke versions of all 3 songs. The CD single will also include a DVD of clips from Makkun's countdown live concert 'Uribou, Baneeee'. The price is 2100 yen; product code is EVCS-0012. There will NOT be a CD-only version of this release. From what is written in her blog, Makkun does not appear to have an album in the works yet, but she did mention that there will be a singles release for Ohmi Tomoe sometime soon.

Remote Viewing CDS: The single is official and out for sale on Jan. 26 on the evolution label. The A-side, 'Remote Viewing', is written by Kinugasa Michio (a veteran music composer for the 'Routes' video game series and also a music writer for anime seiyuu and singer Suara) and arranged by Suzuki 'daichi' Hideyuki. The C/W song is titled 'Haitoku no KISS ~Love of a fallen angel~'. Concert News: The New Year's countdown live concert was held at Shibuya O-EAST on the last day of 2006. Ohmi Tomoe also had a mini-concert, singing 9 songs (one was a cover), just before the countdown live began. The song program for Makkun's countdown live was in this order: Bay side love story -from Tokyo- (which was the mysterious 'forbidden song' from her first album which she alluded to in her makusonia blog days before); Cutie Honey; WILD SPICE; Rondo-revolution; Kyou mo Dokoka de Devilman; God Speed; sion (a new song); SOLDIER ~love battlefield~; AKA; Maria; Key; CUTIE; Shuffle; Remote Viewing; Koishimasho Nebarimasho; Megami ni Naritai ~for a yours~; Souda, Zettai; and then Cutie Honey and Souda, Zettai again for encore. Evolution Releases: With the latest album CD 'evolution' and live tour DVD 'God Speed' out on sale this month, Makkun's slate of confirmed future releases looks pretty blank at the moment. But she has revealed in her online diary that she'll be singing the opening theme, titled "Remote Viewing", of the Playstation-2/Playstation Portable game "Routes". The game is scheduled to be released in late January of 2007, but there's no word yet of when the "Remote Viewing" single (if there is one) might be released.. Concert News: The domestic leg of Makkun's 'evolution' concert tour is over, but not without spawning a little mishap along the way which resulted in some really lucky female fans getting front row seats for the Nagoya and Osaka concerts. Makkun will perform the last concert of the tour in Shangai on Nov. 4. Also, Makkun announced in the Tokyo show that she will be holding a New Year's countdown live concert (a first for her and her fans) at the end of this year. Hm, with 2 full concert tours, 2 new album releases, and a countdown live all in the span of 365 days, wouldn't it have been nice to be in Japan this past year??? Good-Bye O-live, Hello @Tunes: Makkun's radio show 'O-live' has finished its run, but Makkun continues her stint as a talk show personality, this time as host of an anime music talk show on TV called "@Tunes" (the '@' is pronounced like the letter 'A'). There will be two versions of this release; the limited pressing version will include a DVD of her latest promotion videos (mitsu, zero-G, and WILD SPICE) and a slightly higher price tag. Okui Masami 2006 World Tour?: That's right -- Makkun will be expanding her next concert tour outside of Japan to include a live concert in Shanghai. Hopefully, next year Makkun can continue to expand and come play in other continents! (Such as North America? Please?)
