Undergraduate Astronomy Society | UC Berkeley

Upcoming UAS Events

The Undergraduate Astronomy Society was formed by several third year astrophysics majors in 2015. UAS has two major goals: The first is to foster a sense of community between the undergraduates in the department as well as between undergrads, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty in general. The club has held a variety of socials and is planning more events to mix the different niches of the department.

First Social of Spring Semester!

We are pleased to announce the first social of the spring semester! This is going to be a combination snack and movie social, with refreshments and snacks for 20-30 minutes before a presentation of the Golden Globe winning, Acadamy Award nominated "The Martian" (Matt Damon, Ridley Scott). Yes, we know, most of us have seen it. But we also know that most of us proooobbaably wouldn't mind watching at least part of it again! Plus, the theme is perfect. So come hang out with fellow astro majors, meet some new people, eat, drink, and enjoy Mark Watney's sarcastic commentary!

Event Calendar

UAS is involved with putting on a variety of events, from socials, to poster/research presentations, to industry talks, to faculty/student lunches, and more. The calander below shows when these events will be taking place.
