I already know some SQL, when I was learning it a friend recommended a great book on it. Just wondering does anyone have any recommendations for PHP?

The best is just try creating your own page. I suggest to install joomla or wordpress and than try to do some changes.

Wordpress is the easiest way to learn the concept of PHP. Try to create some page on wordpress by your own and it would be easier to get the concept behind it.
