At most, the range of $5 to $160 might suggests it. This being said, the question is missing important information and you cannot solve it without making some assumptions how the envelopes are chosen. And you clearly stated your assumptions. But people can still disagree with you, not on the solution but on the assumptions.

| In the original riddle, it was specified that you know you received a $10 envelope. So, $5, $10, $20, $40, $80, and $160 are the only amounts you need to consider.
