Hello there uberpuzzlers! It's been a while since I posted here ... but I just wanted to inform the wu::riddles community about a new machine learning contest that I have been behind the launch of, in collaboration with Kaggle: https://www.kaggle.com/c/afsis-soil-properties The problem is to predict the concentrations of Calcium, Phosphorus, pH level, Carbon, and Sand in the soils of Africa, given mid-infrared spectroscopy measurements. Winners will not only be awarded with cash prizes, but also have real impact toward improving ecological planning and agricultural productivity in Africa. Top-performing algorithms will be incorporated into machine learning workflows used by the Africa Soil Information Service, being developed in collaboration with my company, QED (http://qed.ai). So, I cordially invite you to participate in this unique opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology for a worthy humanitarian cause.
