"New Message in Forum" Indicator

I have an idea -- how about on the main forum screen having it display what forums have new posts? It does this within the forum, but not on the main screen. This would make it easier to find new posts.

I'll even put my money where my mouth is and contribute code.

euhm.. the main forum screen _does_ show which forums have new posts.. At least on my computer they do (perhaps if you had a caching problem it might not)

Mine just says the date of the last post. I don't have a caching problem, I make sure Mozilla always grabs the latest version of a page.

no new messages:

Admittedly on a high resolution (where the images are small) the difference is hard to see..

How about making the new message indicator something more noticeable, like red, instead of blue?
