On Nova: Population and environment – what's the connection?

http://www.science.org.au/nova/087/087print.htm

And, on TED, Bill Gates on energy: Innovating to zero!

http://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gates.html

Bill Gates talk about energy and climate.
He calls for population reduction, for a Malthusian population manipulation.

Your thoughts, please.

Why not??

People from Asia eat just about anything.

Good examples are pigs and chicken feet.

Most people in America will be sick just the thought of eating it.

Wow..I must be living in a different continent, haven't eaten neither pigs nor chicken feet. The McDonald's here serve neither, sticking with halal food.

Wait a sec, people in America don't eat pigs ? So..the hams and bacons are made of tofu, is it ?  Roll Eyes

I think he meant it to be read as "pigs' feet and chicken feet".

Apparently there's been a revival in popularity of pig's trotters in the UK recently (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig%27s_trotters).
Also, I found that they pickle pigs feet in the Southern United states. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickled_pigs_feet ) I wonder why they'd do that if they don't eat it. They must be just weird.

And yet again, I'm dumbfounded as to where the heck towr get his ideas to search about pickled pig's feet. I mean, pickled pig's feet isn't the first thing that a person would think when someone says,"Pig's feet", rite ?

Scratch that. That's exactly what popped up first when I tried googling pig's feet. Goes on to show one someone would consider thrash, might be a delicacy to others.

Yeah, that one I found through google, but next time I'll get it from memory Tongue

It's often said that the pig is one of the few animals where you can eat every part, from snout to tail and ears to feet, and everything in between.
(And from years of watching the BBC I've learned the UK has recipes for all those parts.)

Population and environment generally both are different things. I must say that in Asian countries population & environment became big questions because population is increasing day per day or environment is also not appropriate to live free.
