Why Did I Choose Him?
At first, I thought Ratner didn't really do anything to add to film and would be considered a "metteur-en-scene." And perhaps he still is, but his latest film, Red Dragon, is really well done and I was surprised at how confident the directing was in the movie. A lesser director would've botched it up completely.

What's Next?
He's currently set to direct the new Superman film coming out in 2004.
