Garett goes mad doing math proofs.

August 1, 2002

Yes, I'm quite aware that the Celebrity and Director of the month is late for July. I'm behind due to major computer errors. However, I'm slowly incorporating stuff into the CalSO 2002 page and pictures from my road trip is up. Also, I've set up a new wallpaper section with carefully selected photos for your desktop. Enjoy!

May 10, 2002

With the year winding down, I hope to start changing some things on this website soon. If you have any suggestions, let me know. At any rate, a brand new celebrity and director of the month is up. Enjoy!

April 27, 2002

I saw Ralph Nader, the Green Party 2000 presidential candidate, speak yesterday and following his talk, I had him sign my "Canada Firsts" book that he co-wrote (or at least wrote the introduction for anyways). When he did see the book, he asked if I was Canadian. I asked him if he had any tips on how to invigorate American interest in Canadian history and issues to which he replied, "the introduction will suffice."

February 26, 2002

"Short, but not too short. I want to part my hair. Let's use a 1.5 or 2, okay? Thanks."

"You're giving me a flat top. I did not ask for a flat top."

"Um... thanks."

February 8, 2002

Man, it's almost been two months... I'll try to update more often!

December 8, 2001

New Celebrity and Director of the Month.

December 4, 2001

I've scanned parts of the articles that appeared in the newspaper. They're kinda funny in a way. You can already tell which one I got pissed off about.

November 30, 2001

Check out the Daily Cal article on MTV's Real World. Funny stuff.

I'll be adding a link to the health worker article they had a few weeks ago, along with my unpublished response to it.

November 29, 2001

Man, it's been a month, eh? Well, I have the delayed  Celebrity and Director of the Month. I promise to update the pages more often.

October 23, 2001

New Celebrity and Director of the Month.

October 15, 2001

Here are some wallpaper pictures that you can post on your desktop.

October 10, 2001

To commemorate the fourth anniversary of my first major short film, I've decided to upload it in its entirety. Check out Revenge of the Hairdresser. Running time 11 minutes.

September 28, 2001

There's a new Celebrity and Director of the month. Also check out the CalSO Tent Pictures and Commentary section that I just added. The Movie Review section has been revamped as did the links section. If you noticed, I'm trying to make some subtle changes here and there on the website. Stay tuned for more!

September 25, 2001

Where am I in this picture?

This is how I prepare for midterms.

In other news.... I'm still taking suggestions  for Celebrity and Director of the Month. E-mail me for your nominations. I'm also thinking about overhauling the site once midterms are out of the way.  Stay tuned.

September 15, 2001

It's been a crazy week to say the least. I've been trying to take some down time and just recover. Anyway, my awesome second floor peeps really helped a lot. Tonight, they baked an apple pie and it was really nice. And it tasted good too!

I've been quite busy over the last few weeks. If you were in a CalSO group and heard about this site, welcome. I'll try to have pictures up soon. Stay tuned!

A brand new celebrity and director of the month. It's a bit more personal and different, but who cares?

July 1, 2001

June 26, 2001

As promised, a brand new Celebrity and Director of the month for June.

June 25, 2001

I just wanted to make a special shout out to Ren's, Nicole's, and my group from the June 22-23 CalSO program. As promised, here's your special gift for visiting my website during your Telebears registration.

Another shout out to all of those on the CalSO staff visiting my website and nudecam 24/7.

I will try to write more on Diaryland. Expect an update within the next few days for a new Celebrity and Director of the month.

June 4, 2001

A lot has gone on in the past month. I went through two intensive finals in math and physics. I moved out of my dorm, which has been my home for the past nine months. And I returned home.

After only a few days, however, I returned to Berkeley, where I am now, to begin my job as a CalSO counselor. Anyhow, I'm in the midst of a 2-week boot camp, if you will, where my fellow peeps and I are learning about every possible thing you want to ever know about Cal Berkeley. It's been mind opening, draining, redundant, etc. But I'm having a great time, so that's cool.

Check out Ben's website. I have to give a small plug for it.

May 11, 2001

Who's that person talking to Janet Reno? Could that be a law student? Click the picture to see what the Berkeley website says.

New Celebrity/Director of the month! Early!!!

May 3, 2001

To better explain what's been going on these past few weeks, check out the first picture above. That's a glimpse of the countless of books I've been skimming, reading, and rereading in order to write my term paper. The second picture is the final draft of my paper, which I turned in at 12:20 pm PST. This one paper will determine my grade for one of my classes. Strange.

Check our Alice's and Vincent's Food website and Alisia's UFO Mentality and Psychology website

April 27, 2001

Slightly delayed, but new celebrity and director of the month have been named.

April 24, 2001

It's really strange how I haven't updated my website in about three weeks. I think that's a record. I mean, I held out updating this website longer than throwing out my trash (that was gone in 20 days).

Anyway, I've been really busy... so busy in fact that I haven't even written anything on Diaryland in a while. April's been kicking my butt. Though it's been fun to some degree, it's been a month full of hardcore work. With projects, papers, outreach, etc., I've been keeping busy.

However, I did mention I did have fun. Last week, Cyrus and I went down to LA and watched a taping of the Price is Right. Above, as you can see, is the nametag that I had there. Our show airs on May 7th.

April 3, 2001

I really feel as though I've been somewhat neglecting this website after working a bit on the AAA website. Believe me, I haven't abandoned this one.

Have you ever seen Planes Trains and Automobiles? Well, my flight back to San Francisco was kinda crazy and after one disaster after another, my suitcase was lost. I kinda lost it at the airport terminal, though not as bad as Steve Martin's character. Three days after my flight, it was recovered and sent to my place.

Unfortunately, I was unable to capture another tag that showed how it somehow wound up in Chicago at one point in its journey home. Strange. Anyway, out of this trip, I've come to one conclusion: don't fly on small jet planes. They're a bit creepy, they're inconvenient, and they're too much of a hassle. Though, I do admit, it's cool to have to walk up to your plane outside and go up its stairs.

IMesh has my stamp of approval, though it's screwing up my computer a lot. Also, the Curtis Hanson movie Wonder Boys is excellent. I managed to watch it over break, and it's quite interesting. I liked it a lot.

On the Academy Awards: I wasn't surprised about Gladiator winning, but I was surprised that Steven Soderburgh and Russell Crowe won for best director and best actor respectively. Soderburgh definitely deserved to win, but I really enjoyed Ang Lee's direction of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, plus it would've been cool to see a Chinese director win. As for Crowe... man, he won for an action movie. I mean, had he won last year for The Insider, I'd have no beef against it. But for an action movie? Wow... I really thought Tom Hanks should've won since he essentially was that movie. That's just me. I thought Coco Lee's performance was excellent and Steve Martin was quite funny as the host.

Would the person who keeps writing these guestbook messages e-mail me?

March 22, 2001

Check out the progression of hardcore studying that I did last weekend. As you can see, I am fully concentrated at doing my work.

I've been working a bit on the Asian American Association website for the past few days. It's a completely different style than this website, but I guess as the weeks progress, you'll start to see some of my imprints on it. It's kinda neat to be working on a totally different machine.

There's a new Celebrity and Director of the month. Sorry for the delay.

The trash in our hallway was taken away after almost a week.

You can now link to my website with http://www.garettng.com as the address

As I will be away from home headquarters in Berkeley, live nude/webcam will be discontinued until April 1st. Sorry for the minor inconvenience.

Would the person who wrote the guestbook entry please e-mail me? I would like to know who you are.

Check out the Rule #9 Productions. To update you guys, we're currently in "development hell" due to script and story issues. Hopefully, the project will jump start up after spring break. More storyboards will come soon.

Have a safe and happy spring break if you haven't had it already!

March 13, 2001 - 2nd Update

March 12, 2001: 10:57 pm

March 13, 2001

March 12, 2001: Day 21

March 13, 2001: Day 22

March 4, 2001

I think this sketch accurately depicts me and my muscular power. Someone in my club committee drew this of me.

March 4, 2001

This is one of the most disgusting things I've ever read. Read it at your own risk. If anything, it makes you realize how there are still people lagging behind in ideology and continue to exhibit and believe in backwards thinking.

March 3, 2001

Here's another storyboard for the documentary. So, in case I didn't mention it, Cyrus and I are working on a documentary on the Berkeley Multimedia Resource Center, or the wonderful people who bring you the webcasts for lectures. Anyway, a tentative plan/outline for the movie has been made and I'm currently in the scripting process for it. It's really interesting to be behind the computer once again to be typing what will potentially be the first movie I've made in a few months. As we prepare to make the movie, we've been testing stuff out with our webcams.

In case you're dying to see it, we shot a little interview clip of us following the disposal of trash. Click here to view it in all its glory.

I find the picture below a typical view at how I look when I'm doing my physics or math homework.

New reviews are now available on the movie review page.

New Celebrity of the Month and Director of the Month coming soon.

Link to Trashcam (or nudecam, which my friend Aileen likes to call it)! Use this picture to put up a link to my page. Speaking of which.... Day 13.

Hidden in there are a mouse pad, a laundry bag holder, many water bottles and cans of soda....

February 20, 2001

The trash was disposed of yesterday. Check out the record breaking experience in the pictures section.

February 19, 2001

This is a storyboard from the untitled movie that we're making. You figure out what it's supposed to mean.

February 16, 2001

My friend back home sent me this wonderful package that I received today. It included a compilation video of some concerts that the two of us performed in during the past couple of years. It brought back a lot of funny memories, and I'm very appreciative of this. Also, keep a part of trashcam on your computer! Think of seeing the experiment every morning on your desktop. Sounds appealing?  Click here for an image, then right click the image, and choose save as wallpaper. And BLAM! It's on your desktop.

February 15, 2001

My trash continues to grow. With only two more days before we break the previous record of 22 days, we've been armed with supplementary bags and layers of newspaper to contain the trash into one tower. Check out the Virtual Tour located in the pictures section as well as the new Celebrity and Director of the month.

February 8, 2001

Good lord, it's growing!

I changed a lot of things around. There's new pictures, a review section, and other things. Take a look around.

January 28, 2001

The much anticipated Celebrity of the Month and Director of the Month is finally up. If you have a moment, figure out your Mafia name and send me the results.

January 17, 2001

I just spent the last hour working on this... this apparently represents who I am in a nutshell. Hmmm...

December 14, 2000

The final stress continues. Be sure to check out Diaryland for continual rants. Studycam is on whenever I'm online.

December 11, 2000

In part of the finals confidence booster, a neighboring building offered free fast food and snacks. My neighbor Julie and I went there and everything was literally gone. All she came back with was a plate of mashed potatoes. I thought it was hilarious. One giant plate of potatoes. Life just couldn't be any better.

December 10, 2000

The webcam should be working now. New Celebrity and Director of the month. Old news has been archived. A new link has been added to the links page.

December 5, 2000

My good friends in my dorm campus found this on the streets and decided to give it to me as a gift. I was needless to say, quite flattered by this generous gift. I'm just sorry for the poor person who lost his or her sign.

November 29, 2000

Trash cam continues to be updated. Look for a new celebrity/director of the month at the turn of the month.

November 19, 2000

Check out the guestbook. Also, celebrity/director of the month has been updated.

November 12, 2000

New part of the website:
Trash Cam.

October 15, 2000

Most of the stuff has been updated.

October 14, 2000

Trying out a new format. I'm not sure if I'll keep it or if I'll go back to the old format. The cool thing about this site is that there's no stupid banners at the top. At least, none that's posted against my free will. If you have any recommendations as to what to put up on my website, let me know. Some links may be a little screwed up or won't work. I'll post them up when I get them done.

September 23, 2000

There's a good chance that I may move the website to a new location. Berkeley apparently has a free service where you can have 10 megs of hard space. Since I don't really use too much space, I figure that moving to this new locale might be cool since there won't be any annoying banners at the top of the screen. More details to come.

If you haven't already, go and catch Almost Famous, which is quite possibly the best movie of 2000. It's a great movie.

Check out Dorm Cam located in the pictures section.

September 22, 2000

I've been living in Berkeley for about five weeks now. It's pretty exciting out here. Nothing new content wise. I may post some pictures of the dorm. We'll see. Be sure to continue checking out Diaryland for some random thoughts.

August 17, 2000

Making the move to Berkeley. More details to come. The project often referred to as Emily has been put on hold indefinitely. At this time, I don't know what will come of it. We shot a few scenes, but that's all. I don't want to get into it too much

August 8, 2000

Do I have to say anything else?

July 13, 2000

I'm in the process of updating this website completely with some new things. For my daily life news, check out Diaryland where occasionally let off a huge rant.

March 1, 2000

New pictures are now available for viewing.

February 12, 2000

Just back from the Academic Decathlon Alternates Competition at Weymouth High School. Franklin cleaned up in a lot of categories... Yours truly racked up three ribbons, including the third highest point-getter for the honors catagory. I'm quite happy with that. I saw the movies "Hard Eight" the other night. It's a very powerful flick by P.T. Anderson. Definitely worth a rental! I may add a review page or something to keep track of all of the movies that I watch. More details to come.

February 3, 2000

The screening of the Candide adaptations went very well. In fact, I was blown away by the response. I'm thinking about returning to these shorts and making a special edition of it. What will be added? Well, I would fix some of the video glitches that were in the print that was shown as well as add outtakes and end credits to the end. More details to come!

February 1, 2000

I've updated the Celebrity and Director of the months.

January 28, 2000

Garett has returned from retirement by shooting not one, but two short French film adaptations of "Candide." The first exclusively features the French V Players while the second film features the French IV Players.
"It's been a while since I was behind the camera. The task was demanding, considering the tight two day schedule, but I think the end product will show the amount of work we've put into the project," Garett said at a news conference on Saturday. The film is currently set to premiere on Thursday. It is rumored that the script for Project 2000 has leaked onto the internet. Garett's publicist would not comment.
