I saw the saddest thing this morning.
On my drive in to work, I spotted a cat that was a few lanes away from me on Great America Parkway. Mouth open, it was still writhing and held up its paw as I passed by. The look on its face is burned in my memory.
Chances are, it was hit not long before I saw it.
And chances are, it's probably a goner by now.
A moment of silence is in order for a poor cat who's life was hopefully better than its end.
