Karen Hendrix

The cause of the rise of civilizations and its identification have long been important areas of study in a variety of related academic fields such as political theory, history, economics, anthropology and archaeology. In this paper, I shall examine the application of one such theory, namely center and periphery, to evidence from 4th millennium Egypt.
