UC Berkeley, Class of 2003, MBA Candidate 2008 B.A. Mass Communications, Minor in Business Administration; MBA As a transfer student, I thought it would
be a challenge to
find a community at Cal since most juniors had the advantage of
already knowing each other for two years and establishing their "barkadas." Little
did I know that I would find my home in a bible study group -- a group
I hesitated exploring having grown tired of 12 years of Catholic school. Throughout
the chaos that was college, Kapwa's kept me grounded in my personal
faith and values. Kapwa didn't preach at me and it wasn't simply
about Bible study; Kapwa was my avenue for meeting really cool
people who shared my common values and goals. It was at Kapwa
where I met many friends and fostered some of my deepest, most lasting
friendships. Kapwa was my home at Cal, and as a Kapwa alum, I
still feel the same welcome and warmth that greeted me the first time
I stepped into a Kapwa meeting each time I return.
