Arrow So I Can Learn Some English

2003/05/31

I wrote yesterday that I was thinking of re-watching 'The Matrix', but I always do so with the subtitles on.
So, since I've watched it many times already, how about I turn this into a chance to learn some English and watch it undubbed and unsubtitled...?
So I can get my ears accustomed to it.
Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it???

Arrow The Matrix: Reloaded

2003/05/30

I'm definitely going to go see it!!!!!
But before that, I'm gonna have to re-watch 'The Matrix'.
...and so, since I own the DVD, I've watched it 10 times so far...

notes :
'The Matrix: Reloaded' opens in theaters in Japan on June 6.

Arrow I went with Ishida Youko-chan...

2003/05/28

to a very good curry shop at a certain place. We ate garlic toast & curry with ground beef and vegetables there, but this shop is most famous for its curry bread.
So already while I was eating I was plotting to buy some bread to-go for breakfast tomorrow.
And then! What should happen but--! This man walked into the store and bought up all the curry bread in the display counter (about 30 in all), then left!!!!!!!
...How very strange...

Arrow No Entries for Almost a Week

2003/05/26

It's been a while.
I wasn't really able to get on my computer for a time.
I'll be starting recording with Chihii soon, and I'll be sure to report the details for you!

Arrow Thank Goodness It's Sunny Again (^-^)

2003/05/21

Wow... The rain yesterday was really amazing.
While driving yesterday, I turned on the windshield wipers, but it really didn't seem to help much... I was also running down the street at break-neck speeds, so it was pretty bad... Some roads were like little rivers.
I'm just so relieved to have gotten home safely...

The sky's completely clear today, though, isn't it.

Arrow Doing a 2nd Chat Session

2003/05/19

We'll be holding our second chat session for the MaBIC fanclub.
Hmm, what should we talk about this time...
To those of you who will be joining us, don't be nervous about it!

Oh! The day in question has changed from when it was originally planned, but it will still be held in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyushu, and Hokkaido. To those of you in or around these areas, please consider joining us!

Arrow From My Mom...

2003/05/18

My mom sent me a face mask to protect against SARS (just in case).
Especially since it was confirmed that the doctor from Taiwan had caught the disease...
Everyone is trying to be careful to prevent an outbreak here in Japan.
Masks, gargle solution (like Isodine, etc.) and antibacterial hand wash are going to be needed.
When I first heard this information, it suddenly struck me how serious this 'SARS' thing is. For instance, we might not be able to do any more live concerts... Since it's a risk to everyone's health...

Arrow I'm So Worried... (T-T)

2003/05/17

They said on the news today that a doctor from SARS-endemic Taiwan came to Japan on vacation.
It seems he visited Osaka and Kyoto to do some sight-seeing.
...Hm... I can't really put into words how worried I am...
Since it seems he also wrote on an airplane with many Japanese people.
I just pray that SARS will not break out in Japan... I also pray from the bottom of my heart that the SARS outbreaks overseas can be cured soon.

Arrow Writing My Column

2003/05/12

My shoulders feel stiff today because I've been writing my column. I already have an autobiography here, but I've already written up to #17. Right now, I'm writing about my time I was working as part the chorus for YUMING.
As I'm writing this, I really feel like I've gotten to meet a lot of different people.
Though I didn't know it back then.
A friend once told me, 'You can't go back to your memories or forget them.' Now I find myself thinking, 'That's really true...'

Oh! Those of you in MaBIC!
Please, please send your drawings in!
To those who do well (that is, those who draw very meaningful pictures), there will be presents!! This is one of our new events!

Oh yes! Thank goodness Tama-chan's hook was taken out... (^-^)

Arrow Party

2003/05/10

Ah... That was really fun.
I had lunch today with Ichirou Mizuki-san, Youko Ishida-chan, and a few other people.
I brought a copy of 'Masami Kobushi' to Mizuki-san's office, and then it was time to eat! We also had the chance to talk about lots of different stuff.
Both Youko-chan and I were constantly mumbling 'Mmhmm, mmhmm' and nodding.
In any case, Mizuki-san was really something! While we were walking outside, these young people kept coming up to us and saying, 'Hey! It's that anime singer!' Hm... He's so famous!

This picture is of the ramen shop owner.

Arrow The Mid-Year Buzz

2003/05/09

Ah... it's already May!
Time really flies, doesn't it?
Well, since half the year has almost passed, there was a certain buzz in the air today. We've decided to hold a gathering for members of the 'okui' fanclub 'MaBIC'.
It seems like it'll be a gathering very different from the ones we've had before.
Previously, it's always been in Tokyo, but this time we'll be going to a lot of places...
For details, please go check the fanclub's main page.
(Since even non-fanclub members have access to this particular page...)

Arrow It's Hot! It's Hot!

2003/05/07

For some reason, my house is really hot and humid!
There's also fur from Fuku-chan and Mii-chan scattered all over the floor...
At times like these, I use the Quicker Wiper to clean up.
I also took this opportunity to give my cats a bath, then I did the laundry. In my case, laundry is a good way to release stress, so I really like doing it! I use my favorite detergent and, after I see my clothes fresh and dry, I also feel refreshed!
......It's pretty economical, don't you think......

Arrow The End of Golden Week...

2003/05/05

The traffic on the freeway around this time is probably really light...
My Golden Week was colored with a lot of events. [1] Well... for the final day today, I was writing the manuscript for 'Ottokomae' here at home. [2]

But...
I keep thinking about the fish hook in Tama-chan's eye, but I guess there's no way around it... (T-T) [3]
I wish I could help somehow...

notes :
[1] 'Golden Week' is a collection of national holidays in Japan that lasts a full week. For more info on Golden Week, go to Japan-Guide.
[2] 'Ottokomae' is the column Makkun regularly publishes in the magazine Newtype
[3] This is referring to the current dilemma concerning a wild Japanese seal nicknamed 'Tama-chan' who has taken up residence in the polluted Arakawa River of Japan since last summer. Today (May 05, 2003), he was seen with a fish hook in his eye, so biologists are debating whether to capture him and give him medical attention or not. Read more about it at Japan Today.

Arrow We Did a Lot Today, Too!

2003/05/04

Today was the Kobushi event at Akihabara's Asobit City!
Yesterday's was really great, too, but it was really hot, wasn't it...
Takeshita-kun, the MC, seemed to be more used to things, as he seemed to act more relaxed today.
I sang Cutey Honey again, but today I also brought my pink penlight and waved it around... it was very fun.
I hope I can hold another event or live concert soon with the people who came again today....

Thank you to everyone at Asobit City, to the staff, and also to all the people who came to today's event. m(_ _)m

Arrow In-Store Event

2003/05/03

The in-store event will take place today.
(I'm writing this on May 2 at midnight, though).
I'm kinda nervous.
Since the audience members 'there' will be a little different than those at my live concerts, the main thing to worry about will be whether I can carry myself with a cheerful presence or not.
I hope both the audience and I can make this event a fun one. (*^-^*)

(After the event)
Well... we finished. m(_ _)m
It was very fun!
Thank you to all of you who came in your spare time (were there people there who were working, too?).
To Ikebukuro-sama from Animate and everyone else, thank you for your hard work!

Arrow Massachugetts!?

2003/05/01

'Masami Kobushi' was released today!
It seems like there were some people who got it ahead of time yesterday, too... (^^)
To memorize the lyrics, I'm listening endlessly to my songs (I actually listen to my songs a lot like this).
For the past 3 days, I've been going into the studio to practice by myself in preparation for the in-store events, so now I feel great. I can't wait to sing in front of everyone.

My cat Fuku-chan is also in good spirits.
