I know I may seem like prying, starting another survey, but I just want to see how old everyone is on this forum.

I will put it in the form of a riddle:

x2+y2-18=10x+y=my age

Since there is only one equation with two unknowns, there may be more than one answer...

But in this case x>0 and y>0 and both are integer

There are precisely two solutions that fit the given conditions. I'm guessing it's:

x2+x+4y="your age"+1
rather than
x2+x+4y="your age"+3

you guessed right... (I would have thought, normally picking out the terms the way I did without really analysing too much that I would be setting up a system with only one solution for which both x and y are integers... Guess I got lucky)

denis, you're one year older than my dad. I'd put my age in the form of a math equation, except, well, I state it openly.

Sweet 16! I recall I learned to drive at that age.  Also learned my first programming language. No internet back then so there was only one computer science class in our entire high school curriculum! I hope you get more choice than I did.

I'm taking my test on Wednesday, and I'll be having my first lesson on Friday.

I do get more of a choice, if I wish to do programming, but I don't. Because of my subjects chosen for next year, and the way the timetable is planned out, I'm not able to take the class. I'm stuck with, I.T.A. (information technology applications), which is like how to use Word, Excel, Paint and so forth.

I don't geddit.

If he was 23 then, he is 27 now.
So
the 2 should occur in the 3rd position (it doesn't)
and
the 7 should occur in the 9rd position (it doesn't)

But 1 is in the 2nd position
and
6 is in the 8th position.

So he ought to be 16, too    Undecided
