There is a black man, who is blind and deaf, walking through a dark forest. He is wearing Black clothes: shoes, shirt, pants, everything he's wearing is black. As he comes upon a dirt road, there is a car is zooming down it,with its headlights off. Right before the guy in the car is about to hit the black man he jams his brakes. How did the guy in the car know to stop before he hit him, how did he determine there was someone in the middle of the road // Thread title modified by administrator at 2:19 AM 15 December 2002; in the future, please write more meaningful titles (e.g., "Car Accident Avoided" instead of "Try and figure this one out"). Thank ye ...

This is a variant of What Happened II in the medium section. One could argue that the "dark forest" disallows the solution there. But roads generally run through cuts in the forest, and the driver was still driving without lights.

The riddle doesn't state that it's night. That would be why his headlights are not on. My guess is that it's daytime and the driver saw the man.

| However, it says the forest was dark.

But not that the dirt road was a part of the forest: the man could have just moved out of the forest and onto the road.
