Math (name the sequences)

I was in math today and we had a little throw back to the algebra days when we had to find an equation given a series of numbers. Try to devise an equation for the following sequences given the number of the sequence (n), starting with n = 1. eg. 1,2,3,4,5... would be "n" 2, 4, 6, 8, 10... would be "2n". While these aren't quite riddles, i think you can still get clever with them. 1) 2, 5, 8, 11, 14... 2) 1, -1/3, 1/5, -1/7, 1/9... 3) 1, 1/2, 3, 1/4, 5, 1/6 ... 4) 2, 0, 2, 0, 2... 5) 1, 2, 1/9, 4, 1/25, 6, 1/49... //Title changed by Icarus

1) 3n-1 2) (-1)n-1/(2n-1) 3) n((-1)^(n-1)) 4) 1+(-1)(n-1) 5) n-.5+1.5*(-1)^n nice progression, though it makes the later ones easier than they would be without the first several.
