There once was an arrogant Kung Fu student who was able to jump over the tallest mountains and across the widest rivers. His wise master decided to humble him. The master drew a line which the student could not jump over or across. Where did the master draw the line?

On the student's body, I suppose.

There was a similar riddle floating around here (with a circle)

Sorry, did a search and didn't find anything. There wasn't a good keyword to look for in this riddle.

If the line was drawn on the student, why wouldn't doing a flip qualify as jumping over the line? If the line was a circle around the student's waist, then the student couldn't jump through it, but if that counts, would circle on the side of thick wall also count as a solution? Is there some other solution?

On himself was what I was looking for. The flip is intersting, though I can see ways of drawing the line to eliminate it. If it was drawn on a thick I wall I do not think he would have any problem as he cna jump over mountains.

| How could a line be drawn on his body so a flip/twist type move does not bring him over part of the line? What I meant about drawing it on a thick wall was if you meant he had to jump through a circle to qualify. That would mean jumping through the thick wall.

If it was through, you could draw the circle anywhere, say on the ground. I guess it depends on how you define "jumping over" for the line/circle drawn on him.
