i'll make a bunch of wild guesses if that's enough
...she's vanna white from wheel of fortune, and pat was a drug dealer and patt sajak was smuggling cocaine to his customers through those teddie bear prizes they give to the contestants on the show. he rigged it so that his customers would go on the show and win (or lose, to get a consolation prize) and then vanna found an extra teddy bear and decided to take it home to one of her many kids (she was a hooker before she landed this job) but pat found out, and being the wonderful showman he is, shot her 3 times just for shock value. meanwhile she had to run to the police cuz she decided to turn herself in for stealing that lovely teddy bear but it was too late.
reminds me of a movie-- starsky and hutch.. and marge.. i swear i didnt mean to steal that pen from the bank!

Perhaps she was going to give it to a police that ask her to buy it for him.
Maybe She has a lot of money because it was for a bribe.. in case another police who isn't involve in the dealing passed by and clearly saw what they were doing, she has something to bribe him with.
The drug dealer perhaps killed her because he thaught, she was going to betray him...
