A train ride

I don't know whether this riddle had been posted before, haven't come across it yet by searching the thread. Anyway..

Four people are in a carriage in a train. An engineer, a detective, a doctor and a priest. At a certain stop, a really good looking lady boarded the train, and sat in their carriage. The train then continued its journey. It then when through a tunnel, whereby the carriage became pitch black ( for some reason, there are no lights in their carriage ). Suddenly, they heard the lady screamed. When the train came out of the tunnel, it seemed that the lady had been 'molested' ( for lack of a better word.) The lady looked at the occupants in the carriage, and slapped the priest.

The question is, why did the lady slapped the priest ?
A better question would be, why did the lady suspected the priest as the person who felt her up ?

Yep, he wasn't a nun. Not a very good priest either.  Wink Is there any other occupation that can be used as a substitute for the priest ? Some people might think this riddle as an attack on christianity. Of course, a rabbi or a monk is also out.

IMHO, almost  any occupation will do... after all, most lines of work are open for us males. Smiley

Prostitute or nurse might make an interesting substitute (because for those people expect them to be women).

I thought it had to do with this joke:

A young soldier, an officer, an attractive young woman and a grandmother are sitting in a train.  The train crosses a tunnel and everything becomes dark.  You can hear some movements, then a kiss followed by a loud slap.  When leaving the tunnel, you can see a red mark on the officer's cheek.

The grandmother thinks:
- That filthy officer!  He tried to kiss the girl.  I am glad girls today know how to defend themselves.
The officer thinks:
- Such bad luck!  The soldier kissed the girl, but she thought it was me, and I got slapped.
The young woman thinks:
- I don't understand.  Who kissed whom?  Did the officer kiss ... the grandmother?  Did *she* slap him like that?  She must be stronger than she looks.
And the soldier:
- Hehe... I only had to kiss my hand and I could slap the officer and get away with it...

Hmm..towr, never thought of it like that. I guess we could specify the fourth person as a prostitute or a nurse. But, are male prostitutes still referred as prostitutes, or male prostitutes, or gigolos ? On the other hand, is there such a thing as a female gigolo ?  Tongue

They'd probably usually be referred to as male prostitutes, for the sole reaosn people assume prostitue implies woman. Just like people will often explicitly state 'female doctor' if they don't mean the 'normal' male kind.
As for gigolo's, they're a different class than male prostitutes. Just like call girls aren't (necessarily) prostitutes. Nor are prostitutes exactly whores. Of course you can debate the fine distinctions, or deny any distinction.
Gigolo's generally (used to) cater to (or prey on) the higher classes, for one. And you could debate who's using whom.

There are certainly women that operate in the same way. But I don't know if they'd be called gigolos. I'd say it goes off towards 'trophy wife'. (Of course it does depend on how consciously they do what they do..)

Have to say, the version of Grimbal's joke I know uses an Englishman, an Englishwoman and a Frenchman, with the Frenchman feeling rather sore, and the Englishman rather smug...

That won't work.  The englishman would have met only thin air where the frenchman's head was because the frenchman would indeed be trying to kiss the woman, english or not.  Grin

Well, it depends on whether the Englishman is wearing his low-light vision spectacles (from Q-Branch, naturally), or just corrected for the Frenchman's movement, or not... Tongue
