We are not making much progress.
If we accept that they look exactly alike in all respects, it is not by their aspect that Elizabeth tells them apart, but with something else. OK so far?
For instance, they are handcuffed. Debby's right wrist is linked to Jenny's left wrist.
(And despite an intense search, they couldn't find a second pair of handcuffs to link Debby's left wrist to Jenny's right wrist...)

Elizabeth actually has triplet, out of which Debbie and Jennie are identical and the other looks different. One of the girls sitting on the couch is the third girl and the other is either Jennie or Debbie. But since they are sitting quietly, it has to be Jennie, because whenever Debbie and the third girl are together, they never sit quietly.
