I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, where I also earned the Warner Brown Memorial Prize for Outstanding Promise in Psychological Research. During my studies at Berkeley, I completed an honors thesis on why bullying occurs and stops, asking former victims, bullies, and bystanders about their experiences. I have three different, but related lines of research interests: 1) the equifinality and equipotentiality of emotion, 2) the deliberate and automatic processes we use to intrapersonally and interpersonally regulate emotions, and 3) the causes and life outcomes of experiencing social rejection. Research Interests: emotion, emotion regulation, and social rejection
