About me

Hello there! I am currently a postdoc at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in Bures-sur-Yvette, France, working under the supervision of Prof. Kontsevich with support from the Simons Collaboration on Homological Mirror Symmetry.

In 2019 I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in Berkeley, CA, in the Holomorphic Differentials in Mathematics and Physics program. I earned my PhD in May 2019 from the UC Berkeley Department of Physics, under the supervision of Prof. Vivek Shende (UC Berkeley Math Dept) and Prof. Mina Aganagic (UC Berkeley Math Dept and Physics Dept).

I’m interested in many topics in mathematical physics, geometry and category theory, and find the interaction between the fields a source of much inspiration. Recently I have been thinking about extended TQFTs, higher category theory, categorical invariants in mirror symmetry, Bridgeland stability conditions, the geometry of holomorphic differentials and Toeplitz quantization.

If you’re interested in any of these topics feel free to contact me at atakeda [at] ihes [dot] fr, or by mail at
