From fun and games, to informational sessions, to SF trips and Kickoffs, the Cal Commuters have got it all covered. Events offer opportunities for commuters to meet and connect with one another, something that commuters often miss from not having had the “dorm” experience. They also act as amazing resources for commuters to stay caught up in all the happenings of the commuting and public transportation world.
Social Events
The Cal Commuters believe that above all, commuters can have just as much of an exciting social life as any other college student, which is why there is never a shortage of social events throughout Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Some of our most popular and ongoing events include . . .
Commuter Breakfasts: for all of our early bird commuters who love free bagels and donuts

Informational Events
As a commuter we understand that one of the hardest things to find on campus is resources, which is why each semester we hold a Commuter Kickoff, a gathering where you can meet you Cal Commuter Assistants (your personal RAs), get public transit info, and meet representatives from several campus associations including UCPD, Parking and Transportation, L&S, New Student Services, and the Transfer, Re-entry & Student Parent Center. This is the chance for commuter students to ask questions and actually get answers!
Additional Events
In addition to social and informational events, Student Commuters at Cal participates in several campus events including Calapalooza and Cal Day to help reach out to commuters across campus. We also hold Town Hall meetings which provide commuter students an opportunity to participate in officer meetings in order to share their input on what they would like to see happen in the future. These meetings also provide an opportunity for students who are interested in becoming an officer or helping plan events to come see what goes on behind the scenes.
