Background:

With members in 165 countries, the Institute of Internal Auditors (http://www.theiia.org/) is the Internal Audit profession’s global voice, recognized authority, standard-setter, and resource for professional development and certification. Established in 1941, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association with global headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

The IIA is represented worldwide through 96 institutes and has 153 chapters in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. The IIA – Northern California East Bay Chapter (http://www.theiia.org/chapters/index.cfm/home.page/cid/216) is one of IIA’s chapters in San Francisco/Bay Area which includes members from Chevron, Safeway, University of California (Lawrence National Livermore Laboratory), Old Republic Title Company, and AT&T and holds monthly meetings and seminars in Concord and San Ramon, CA.
