Get Involved
Whether you play an instrument, sing in the shower, or just love being around music — you belong here. As a Blue Heart Initiative Berkeley club, there are no auditions, no interviews, and no prerequisites to joining.
Who Can Join
- Performers — Got something you want to share? Bring your instrument and we'll help you find people to play with or build out a solo set. There's a brief screening to make sure our venue performances are a wonderful experience for everyone.
- Just for fun — Want to play for the joy of it? Come jam with us. No pressure to perform anywhere — just good music and good company.
You don't need an instrument to be a meaningful part of Heartstrings.
Help us document performances through photography, run our social media, cheer on performers, or simply show up and be part of a community that believes in music's power to heal.

How Meetings Work
We kick things off with a quick check-in — upcoming events, how everyone is doing, and a piece of music-wellness research we've been excited about.
The heart of our meetings. Bring your instrument, form casual ensembles, and practice together for our performances — or just sit back and listen. Just jamming and just music.
Grab a few minutes with one of our exec members — a low-key chat to see how things are going. If you're thinking about performing, this is a great time to share your ideas and show us what you've been working on.
