About the Event

     This semester, were are proud to have

Erica Goldman,
DJ and teacher extraordinaire from Los Angeles, as our guest! Our theme for the evening is "The Political and Cultural Experience of Israeli Folk Dancing." We will study some of the issues in the Middle East in a hands-on (or rather, feet-on) environment, all while having a great time Israeli dancing!

We would like to thank the sponsors of this event: The Townsend Center, the Jewish Student Union, and Berkeley Hillel.

Information

When?

Saturday, April 9, 2011, from 8:00 P.M. to midnight.

Where?

     The event will take place in the Auditorium of the UC Berkeley Hillel building. We have a spring wood floor, high quality audio equipment, and a comfortable lounge. Hillel is located at 2736 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94704. Here is a link to a Google map, which is pictured below.

How Much?

     The proceeds go to snacks and putting on more dance events, such as our monthly dance party.

  • General admission— $5
  • UC Berkeley students/staff and children under 12— Free

Parking

     Parking around Berkeley can be a bit of an adventure. At this time, street parking is free, but hard to find. If you are willing to park farther away, street parking is available in the residential areas. However, if you prefer a paid parking garage, there are three options available.

  1. Kroeber Lot (maintained by the university), entrance on Bancroft, between College and Bowditch
  2. Underhill Lot (maintained by the university), entrance on Channing, right across from Unit 1 dorms
  3. Telegraph/Channing Garage (maintained by the city), enter on Durant or Channing, to the west of Telegraph, lot closes and locks at 10 P.M.
     On the map below, the numbers in the red boxes correspond to the paid garages described above. The triange with the A indicates Hillel.
