Global Studies 145: Rethinking Global Capitalism: Race, Class, Gender, History
Taught with Prof. Hannah Appel, UCLA Anthropology

Reconsideration of the histories and geographies of global capitalism. Displacing the industrial revolution from Britain out into the colonial world, the transatlantic slave trade, and the attempted genocide of indigenous peoples in Americas, the study of new map of global capitalism and the new histories of globalization. Course covers capitalism; embodiment and gender; capitalism and environmental crisis; and new issues in digital capitalism, gig economy, and social media.
