Article I: Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Honor Society in Economics

Article II: Mission Statement

To create a closely-knit network of economics honors students on the UC Berkeley campus by:

1. Holding social/intellectual economics activities
2. Advising on career related opportunities and organizing active forums with recruiting employers
3. Offering support groups and tutoring opportunities for members of the club
4. Distinguishing those students who have excelled in the study of economics

Article III: ODE membership is open to all currently registered students of UC Berkeley who meet the following requirements:

1. Taken three or more upper-division economics courses at UC Berkeley with a GPA of 3.3 or above in them

OR

2. Taken two or more upper-division economics courses at UC Berkeley with a GPA of 3.5 or above in them

3. A GPA of 3.0 or above overall

4. Paid the one-time membership fee to the Omicron Delta Epsilon National Headquarters Only currently registered students, faculty and staff may be active members in a registered student organization. Only active members may vote or hold office. We will not haze according to California State Law.

We will not restrict membership based upon race, color, national origin, religion, sex, physical and mental disability, medical condition (cancer- related or genetic characteristics), ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship or status as a covered veteran (special disabled veteran, Vietnam-era veteran or any other veteran who served on active duty during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized).

Article IV: Officers & Executive Commitee President, Vice President, Treasurer, Activities Chairs, Marketing Chair, Webmaster.

1. Officers are equivalent to the executive committee.

2. Officers selected by members of the current board.

3. Officers serve for one year (the following Fall and Spring semesters); if an officer chooses to serve for only one semester, an application process will be initiated at the end of the semester to replace him/her.

4. President serves as primary signatory.

5. Minimum of 4 officers serve as signatories. Only members who have been active in the club at least one full semester may apply for an officer position. Article V: Constitutional Amendments

Only members in the club are allowed to propose amendments. An amendment will need a two-thirds majority vote from your active membership to pass.

Article VI: Officer Roles

President -
Very active in all programs; make sure all semester goals are being fulfilled; delegate responsibilities to other officers and members and help with any projects that need attention; maintain frequent contact with local and national sponsors.

Vice President
Support the President in maintaining efficiency and order within the executive committee; keep track of current and future events by taking minutes during officer meetings, make sure all officers are on task, resolving any external or internal issues that may arise; maintain the ODEberkeley@gmail.com account.

Treasurer -
Apply for and secure ASUC funding and attend all necessary ASUC workshops; allocate funding to the group's various activities; organize and handle all member reimbursements; maintain an updated database of all current ODE members, and a database of ODE alumni.

Activities Co-Chairs (Academic, Professional) -

Plan and organize activities for the semester, such as academic and professional panels featuring guest speakers and corporate representatives; arrange to co-sponsor Career Fairs with the Career Center.

Marketing Chair -
Recruit new members by publicizing ODE to interested individuals ; email members about upcoming events and meetings; answer any member inquiries; plan social events, such as professor potluck dinners, group field trips, and social gatherings, etc.

Webmaster -
To act as the primary public relations channel for ODE by maintaining & updating ODE's website for the interest of both current and prospective members.

Article VII: Meetings

Quorum – Officers
Executive committee will call meetings for members.
Officers meet weekly unless otherwise specified by the President.
Emergency meetings may be called.

Article VIII: Sponsorship and Funding:

Treasurer is responsible for securing and maintaining all sponsorship and funding opportunities for current and future semesters.

Article IX: Dissolution upon inability to select an Executive Committee.

Dissolution must be approved unanimously by all current members. All unspent ASUC funds shall remain the property of the ASUC, all Graduate Assembly funds shall remain the property of the Graduate Assembly. Remaining privately-obtained funds may be donated to another nonprofit organization with prior approval of the ASUC Senate Finance Committee.
