Welcome to the Ski and Snowboard Team at Berkeley!

We are a group of skiers and snowboarders from the University of California, Berkeley that compete in the NorCal conference of USCSA against Stanford, UC Davis, University of Nevada, and Sierra Nevada College among others. We have both men’s and women’s teams in Alpine racing, Ski and Snowboard Freestyle, and Skier-X and Boarder-X.

We do not require potential members to try out or have prior competitive experience, but potential members should be experienced skiers or snowboarders and be passionate about their sport.

We hire an expert ski and snowboard coach every season and everyone improves tremendously. Competition and training is a large part of what we do, but there is plenty of time for freeskiing and earning GNAR points.

We get season passes every year; for 2017-2018 we will again be getting a discounted Gold pass to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. We are also renting a cabin in Tahoe Donner for the season right near the Davis and Stanford team cabins.

In the Fall we prepare for the season with optional dryland workouts and social events to get to know everybody on the team. During the last two weeks of winter break we will all live in Tahoe and ski Early every day and have the Times of our lives.

The Ski Team Motto:

Rule #1: Look good

Rule #2: Feel good

Rule #3: Safety third

  1. Do you have a 2016-17 team? I am an x-world pro ski racer living in the East Bay and know several very good coaches.

    1. There are years of academia that have been devoted solely to this question, however most experts in the field have concluded that Cal Ski Team is indeed, Number One.

    2. If you want speed and style, definitely go Cal. If you want to be coddled like the millennial you are go to Stanford. Also go to neither and stay in high school forever it only goes downhill from there

  2. Winter is coming, and only the number one ski team can save us from what is coming. Stanford is on its way, and Cal will meet them on the slopes, and we will not give up, we will shred until every one of them has fallen.

    1. We accept skiers of all levels. While we recommend a familiarity with the sport, and do expect you to provide your own gear, we have had complete newbies join the team!

  3. Hi

    1. Hi! That’s great to hear! Congrats on accepting Berkeley! The best way to stay in the loop is to follow our Facebook page or Instagram, but I’ll also put your email in my phone and let you know when we start recruiting this Fall. Go Bears! -Jane
