EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE

Archivist and Records Analyst, Archives and Records Office, Technical and Electronic Information Department, Information and Computing Sciences Division, Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. May 1994 to the present (acting unit head since October 1995).
Reviews Archives and Records program components, planning, recommending and implementing changes or improvements. Appraises records for appropriate disposition and processing; analyzes, describes, and schedules Laboratory records based on appropriate regulations, laws, and professional archival and records management policies and practices. Provides guidance and training to Laboratory personnel concerning records and archival matters. Performs research and reference work in response to individual and institutional inquiries. Creates records series descriptions and online reference utilities according to professional and national bibliographic standards.

Records Analyst and Document Control Specialist, Environment, Health and Safety Division, Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. March 1993 to April 1994.
Reporting to the Laboratory Archivist and Records Manager, responsible for the establishment and development of all aspects of the records management and document control programs for the Environment, Health and Safety Division. From January to April 1994 matrixed to Archives and Records Office, Administration Division; responsibilities included original cataloging of scientific records, unit operations, Human Radiation Experiments Records Search Project.

Tutor, School of Library and Information Studies (subsequently the School of Information Management Systems), University of California, Berkeley. January to May 1993
Assisted in research, devising of assignments, and preparation of instructional materials for an advanced course in bibliography and information service, utilizing online bibliographic utilities and the resources of the Internet. Provided academic tutoring to students enrolled in the course.

Records Analyst, Archives and Records Office, Administration Division, Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. October 1992 to March 1993.
Reporting to the Laboratory Archivist and Records Manager, responsible for conducting a laboratory-wide records survey. Inventoried and described records of assigned laboratory divisions and analyzed and described records' functions, reviewing records for retention, disposal, and archival disposition in compliance with National Archives and Records Administration regulations and procedures.

Library Assistant III, Serials Services, Circulation Department, Library, University of California, Santa Barbara. September 1989 to August 1991.
Supervised, planned, and advised the Head of Circulation Department on the operations of the Serials Services Unit. Responsibilities included training and evaluation of work performance of career staff and student assistants, use and distribution of GA allotment, recommending serials to be added to the library's collection and acting as unit's liaison with other library departments and staff. Dealt with patron complaints and resolved problems.

Library Assistant II, Circulation Department, Library, University of California, Santa Barbara. July 1979 to September 1989.
One of two supervisors jointly responsible for the operation of the Circulation Department on nights, weekends, and holidays. Supervised, trained, and evaluated student assistants, regulated work-flow and directed special projects, input and updated Department's computer database, running both regular and special computer programs as necessary. Dealt with patron complaints and resolved problems.
